My name is Claire Brewer and I’m thrilled and honored to be the Director of Little Stars Preschool in Snoqualmie. During my time at this very special school, from teaching on the Ridge, to teaching through the pandemic in my backyard, to opening our downtown campus, I have had the privilege to watch our students learn, grow, build confidence, stretch their curiosity and make personal connections to the rich diversity of life here in the Snoqualmie Valley.
I live in a little old house in downtown Snoqualmie with my husband, our two weird and wonderful sons and the two greatest dogs on the planet. I love reading, birdwatching, gardening, art, woodworking and collecting agates and jaspers in our backyard creek and beyond. I love melding my training as an art educator, my passion as a child-centered early childhood specialist, and my fascination with our natural world to support and enhance the growth of your child, support their innate wonder, and foster a sense of connection and stewardship of our planet.
I look forward to learning and exploring alongside your children at Little Stars Preschool!
Did you know that, in addition to our amazing performing arts programs for school-aged kids and adults, we have an INCREDIBLE collection of programs for preschoolers and their younger siblings? At the top of the list, of course, is Little Stars Preschool, our arts-based preschool that blends traditional curriculum with hands-on creative learning activities, including visual arts, dance, and music instruction taught by on-staff teaching artists. With scheduling options that fit ANY schedule, Little Stars is a one-of-a-kind first school experience for your child.
To continue to cater to the needs of families with very young children, we are adding the following to our daytime schedule starting in December: Music, Movement & Bonding Class for Infants + Parents Mondays, 10am – 11am This class will explore a variety of methods parents can use to connect with their child while taking good care of themselves. We will explore development skills parents can use regularly that are essential for social, personal and professional activities their children will be engaging in. We will use movement and music to inspire the parents and attract Baby’s attention that can become regular routines parents can use to create a secure attachment with their child regardless of the knowledge or experience they have as a parent.
FREE Storytime Tuesdays, 11am – 12pm OR Saturdays, 10am – 11am
Join us for an hour of storytime fun! This FREE story hour is a great way to meet other parents and give your kiddos an opportunity to hear wonderful stories, sing songs, play games and do crafts!
Music, Movement & Bonding Class for Preschoolers + Parents Tuesdays, 10am – 11am This class will build a routine from music and movement activities that will build upon the children’s developing memory, and concepts, which are needed for healthy development. These routines will also enhance and add to parents’ playfulness, which is an important element in creating a secure attachment with their children. Developmental stages will be described and demonstrated in class including some coaching and role-playing throughout the classes in an effort to build effective parenting skills. Parents struggling will find support and tools in this class to manage their experiences as a parent and individual.
