Nature School at little stars preschool

In addition to the holistic education your children will get in our indoor classrooms, we also have our wonderful outdoor program. At our Nature Preschool in Snoqualmie, children will explore our beautiful natural surroundings as they deepen their learning in our Reggio-inspired outdoor classroom, as well as at local parks. We follow the childrens’ lead as they seek out sensory-rich engagement, observe plants and animals through the seasons, and foster their connection to their natural world. Check out all the pictures of the incredible learning we engage in at our outdoor preschool in Snoqualmie!

Activities at Little stars nature school

Like all of our classes, Little Stars Preschool Nature School program focuses on whole child development. Children will experience hands-on exploration and exposure to our diverse ecosystem. They will engage in the concepts of Science, Environmental Education, Art, Math, Language, and Literacy. Students will work with Miss Claire in our three outdoor preschool classrooms on-site as well as utilize our local Snoqualmie community that is just steps away from our downtown location. Children will develop their creativity, imaginative play, problem-solving and executive function skills. Kids will also gain numerous mental and physical strengths while spending time immersed in nature learning through hands-on discovery and exploration of our natural world where they are free to play, observe and test hypotheses. The skills gained at Little Stars Preschool Nature School will give children the skill set to succeed in their future education and beyond!

Meet Miss claire

My name is Claire Brewer and I’m thrilled and honored to be the Nature Preschool teacher for Little Stars Preschool in Snoqualmie. Nature School began as a solution to social distancing needs for the 2020/2021 school year. Within a few weeks, however, we knew we had something truly exceptional on our hands. During that year, I had the privilege to watch our Nature School students learn, grow, build confidence, stretch their curiosity and make personal connections to the rich diversity of life here in the Snoqualmie Valley.

I live in a little old house in downtown Snoqualmie with my husband, our two weird and wonderful sons and the two greatest dogs on the planet. I love reading, birdwatching, gardening, art, woodworking and collecting agates and jaspers in our backyard creek and beyond. I love melding my training as an art educator, my passion as a child-centered early childhood specialist, and my fascination with our natural world to support and enhance the growth of your child, support their innate wonder, and foster a sense of connection and stewardship of our planet.

I look forward to learning and exploring alongside your children in Snoqualmie’s best outdoor preschool program!
